Woe is me.

For the first time in a long time, work actually got in the way of my ability to go to Cars and Coffee. While I didn’t have to stand out in the hot sun for once, which is a plus, I did miss out on what potentially could have been some nice cars. I know I saw an R32 up there as I drove by this morning...

Anyway, to make up for my lack of coffee and octane, I went on some reconnaissance to local dealerships and such to see what was new on the lots, and some of it was glorious.

I got my first close look at the new S90 today.

And it is everything I’ve ever imagined, from the gracious lines to the fine interior. This thing is gorgeous.

A new generation of Swedebrick.

I saw a contradiction.

I am most definitely in love.

And again, I am in love. In fact, I need some time alone with these beauties.

I’m starting to wonder just how many stock G37s are left in Alabama. The exhaust was nice, however.

Everybody likes a nice wet pussy.

Here’s another pussy in the same parking lot. This one, however, is from a different part of town...i.e. Hell. Also, this is the first Charger Hellcat I’ve seen in the wild.

I’d say it was worth it. Especially for the S90 and those CT6s. God bless big luxury cars.

What are they making anyway? They’ve leveled off an area like they’re going to make a new store/restaurant or something. Also, sharing the remainder of a lot with an air conditioned shooting range ensures a very full lot. You don’t have to save me a spot since I’ll be there more than halfway through the meet. At that point it’s just rude, but thanks for the offer. I miss the old location. The lot was massive and the backdrop was great.

It’s definitely an O’Reilly’s. I saw the sign yesterday. When that thing opens, the lot will be taken up by cars with hoods up, but not the kind we’re looking for (or are they?).

I miss the old spot too. More interesting things used to come out then, like the F40 and the Enzo. I haven’t even seen those black 458s in a while.

Yeah. the gun store lot isn’t as exotic friendly. It’s too open. We might have to move if the lot keeps filling up like that. I’ve heard of a couple of places downtown being game with a weekly car meet but 1) That’s downtown and 2) their lots are small and rougher city streets which would drive away the exotics even more and the guys who are low or have stiff coils.

Downtown would make it a bit rough for people like me near Montevallo that already go a long way for HTF. I’d be down for moving to that warehouse that guy with the Turbo S was talking about the other week. Sounds like a good open space in the middle of everything, and it’d be interesting to see what exotics they have inside.

The Hoover-Pelham area is really the best central location for all this. I’m trying to think of other places that would be good...but I don’t know an y of the people around here and whether or not they’d be cool with having a bunch of car people.

Chase Bays is downtown but i don’t know if they have a big lot.

Also going downtown still raises issues for people who may live all the way down 280 or even in the Hoover/Pelham area. It’s on 4th Avenue S but I’m not sure how great the roads are down that way so there’s the issue of low cars and exotics.

No, yeah, we need something off highway 31 where the roads are at least a little smoother. Plus I don’t think Chase Bays has a good parking lot for all of us. I wish we could find another parking deck to go on...I wonder if the Vestavia movie theater would do it.

That movie theater is a great idea. But saturday is when most people probably go watch movies but hopefully not so much in the morning. Most movies I check times for don’t start earlier than 10:00.

I know about this from working at the one in Alabaster, and yeah, people usually don’t start lining up until the theater opens at and around 10:00 (or later when school comes back). Since the event usually ends around 10:00-10:30 for most of us it might work. I’ll toss it in the ring when the topic comes up and we’ll see.

The biggest issue is management. What are they going to say about a bunch of people in their lot. And I’m sure they’ll google cars and coffee videos and find the inevitable mustangs, camaros, challengers, and corvettes trying to show off and hitting something.

Another few good things about that spot: There’s a pokestop and a roundabout.
